Tavastia Vocational College, glass education

Vocational education in glassblowing began in Nuutajärvi in 1993 at the initiative of Professor Oiva Toikka. Today glass education is part of Tavastia Vocational College. Students who have completed the 120-credit study programme receive an upper secondary qualification in crafts (artisan). Vocational studies in glassblowing comprise training in the basic gathering and glassblowing techniques, highlighting the importance of mould blowing. The language of instruction is Finnish.

The public is welcome to watch the students at work in the hot shop.
